Facilities

The following facilities are provided for the benefit of the hostel inmates
  • Hostel library is well equipped with 5000 copies of books with different titles. The library is kept open between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Reading room in auditorium, which is kept open during 7 a.m to 8 p.m daily.
  • Prayer Hall with an accommodation of 40 persons.
  • STD and ISD facilities with two connections. No service charge is levied.
    Coin box phone is also made available.
  • Clinic with visiting doctor and basic medicines.
  • Browsing centre with 8 systems, web camera, scanner, DVD writer and laser printer.
  • Bio-gas plant at a cost of Rupees 4.5 lakhs, which supplies 20 cylinders per month.
  • A Guest House, with beds and attached bathrooms, for accommodating parents and relatives of inmates has been maintained.
  • A Canteen Service is made available throughout the day in the campus.
  • An Auditorium accommodating 300 students is kept for students programmes and functions.
  • Washing and Dry Cleaning facilities are provided to the inmates.
  • Water Coolers are maintained in all the four messes for providing purified drinking water.
  • Generator of 63 KV is maintained to tackle the inconvenience caused by power cut.
  • A Sports Hostel, with the accommodation of 100 athletics and sports students, with cooking and dining facilities has been maintained.
  • Construction of one more floor in the mosque hostel has been completed and declared open on 25th February 2006 by Haji. SYED M. SALAHUDEEN, Managing Director, ETA Ascon, group of companies Dubai. A separate building with mess hall, kitchen, store room in the ground floor and three rooms in the first floor, for the benefit of poor meritorious students, was also declared open on the same day.

Khajamian Hostel is named after one of the revered founders of the college, Janab Khajamian Rowther, a philanthropic businessman, Tiruchirappalli. It started functioning from the year 1951 when the college was established. Since then it has been rendering valuable services to the student community. In the beginning it had facilities to accommodate 500 students. At present it can accommodate 1575 students.
